Ice Cream

We went to Cold Stone Ice Cream Shop and got Aaron's free ice cream for his birthday. We also order another fudge sundae. Way to much chocolate and sugar!!! We then went over to Petco and looked at their animals. They have some cute turtles and fish. The ferrets stink!! Next we went to Toy R Us to by Jordan a birthday present. Arthur really likes the bikes and cars. Got home and tried to give the cat her medicine. She won't take it. She has antibiotics and pain pills because the Doc says she has arthritis. I figured from the records at the vets that she is about 11 years old. They said she has arthritis really bad and she also has a wound on her foot that causes her pain. Arthur liked the vet clinic because there were lots of animals there. We met a search and rescue dog named Dusty.

Aaron's Birthday Party

I just got home from Aaron's Birthday Party. Jordan and Arthur had a good time playing and chasing eachother around. We had homemade fried chicken, mashed potatos and corn. It was good. Aunt Lori was there. Fred and Mildred couldn't make it because Mildred is ill.

I tried to take Cappy the cat to the vet. I couldn't catch her so I had to cancel the appointment. She has an injured foot. I will try to catch her again in the morning. I stopped by the radio station and picked up tickets that I won to the Michael McDonald concert at Maryhill Winery. We will go Saturday night. I am not feeling well and think I am coming down with something:(

Chief Joseph

Chief Joseph was buried near where we stayed. His burial site was interesting because visitors leave all kinds of gifts and trinkets. They also put out lots of prayer flags. We also stopped at an old cemetary in Flora. Lots of children died young and it was sad to see how the people must have suffered.

More Pictures from Vacation

Wallowa Lake

We woke up the next day and had breakfast again at Boggans. We then drove to Lake Wallowa. What a nice place. We soon found my parents and their cabin. They had deer right outside their door and they would eat out of your hand. Aaron caught a big toad and we kept it as a pet and Aaron wanted to show it to baby Andrew when he arrived. We kept the toad in our dog kennel, but somehow she/he escaped. It was a very large toad!!! We had dinner with Katie, Chris, Andrew, Debbie, Lillian and Steve. We had enchiladas, corn on the cob and pie for dessert. We also had Texas Sheet Cake for dessert. Good Stuff!!! Arthur and Debbie stayed in the cabin and Aaron and I slept in the camper. The next day we all went on the Tram, had lunch in Joseph, shopped, went for a walk and then headed home. We got home very late and then it was up and off to work and daycare. Arthur is now in the Toddler's class. He graduated from the Waddlers and they made him a art book and a video of his time in the younger class.

Rattle Snakes

Is rattle snake one word or two? Well we saw two different snakes on our drive back to camp. At the second snake Aaron jumped out for a closer look. I screamed and said "get back" like twenty times. He wanted to kill the snake, but I said no!!!! They both had about three rattles. We got pictures, but you know those snakes are hard to get a good picture of because you can't get to close. hisssssssssssssssssssssssss ratttttttttttttttttttttttttttlllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Day Three of Vacation

On the third day (Sunday) we went for a drive. We ate burgers in Elgin, Oregon at a greasy little joint. We saw lots of deer. We went to Enterprise and Joseph and Lake Wallowa to check out where we would be staying the next day. We stopped in an old ghost town called Flora. It was once a bigger town, but doesn't have much left anymore. We checked out the old school which is now a registered historical site. We saw two rattle snakes in the road on the way back to camp. We traveled down some very scary roads. I know we did a lot of other stuff, but I really can't remember it all. I do remember Arthur running around the ghost town and also Aaron jumping out of the truck to get a closer look at the rattle snake. That involved a lot of screaming on the girls part!!

Day Two of Vacation

On the second day Aaron, Arthur and Debbie went fishing and on a drive. We didn't get any pictures, but I guess they caught a couple of bass fish at hole in the wall on upper Schumaker. I took a nap while they were gone. When they got back we got cleaned up and read books and played a little. Can't remember what else we did? I think that was the morning Aaron made a really good breakfast consisting of skillet and toast. We had a hard time every night getting Arthur to sleep with us in the camper.

Lake Wallowa Vacation

We got back late last night from our Lake Wallowa vacation. We left Friday after work and headed to Oasis, Washington. I think that is the name of the place. It is basically a little restaurant and campsite at the bottom of a big canyon on the Grande Ronde River. We stayed in two little cabins the first night. Grandma Knight (Debbie) had one cabin and we had the other cabin. We didn't get there until late. We went right to sleep and then got up early the next day for breakfast at Boggans. That is the one little business there. They had a lot of bikers in because they were having a biker rally in Joseph, Oregon. We then left for our campsite in Troy. We set up camp and went for a walk. The walk turned into a very, very, very long and hot hike. Aaron was our fearless leader and we saw turkeys and bear scat. We never did see a bear. I was so hot and tired by the time we reached our goal (the bridge) I drank right out of the river and made a scarf from Debbie's shirt which we had wet to keep Arthur cool. I think that first day we had tacos for dinner and explored the little one room school house. It is reportedly the smallest school district in the state with six students. We all liked their pump merry-go-round. You power it by pushing up and down on a pump. I can't remember what else we did that first day. I know on the way over we stopped at the Lewis and Clark Park. That is a nice park outside of Dayton.

Home Sick

We are home sick today. Arthur has a really bad cold and a fever. Aaron stayed home too. So we are taking turns watching Arthur and getting some stuff done. I still need to clean the bathroom and mop the kitchen floor. I am getting a lot of laundry done. I went to the library and returned some books and got some new books and dvds for our trip. we are going to leave tomorrow after work.

Have a happy, wonderful and great day!!!

Another Busy Day

We were up bright and early again today...or did we ever go to sleep? Arthur was up several times with a fever and cough. Aaron went to Wal-Greens and got Pedia-lite and Tylenol. I think he went about 0300. Aaron stayed home with Arthur today and I went to work. I left work at about 1000 to get my hair cut and colored. I got it done in a dark brown and it is a shot bob style. It was long and blond, so this is a drastic change. I got back to work and started getting a headache... which by the way I also had this morning. I then decided that we had plenty of staff at work and I left about an hour early. I got home and Aaron ran a few erronds. Arthur was grumpy when I got home, but he seems to be feeling better now. Aaron and Arthur decided to go visit his parents and I stayed behind to get some much needed rest. Aaron has a lot more energy than I do.

Not sure if we will stay home tomorrow. I guess it depends on how Arthur does tonight. We have a lot of packing to do as we are leaving on our vacation Friday after work. Aaron's Mom is going with us. We will meet my family in John Day on Monday. Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be spent in Troy, Oregon.

Hillary

Nana Smith has issues with putting curlers in Arthur's hair and trying to get him to like Hillary Clinton. I think now that Hillary is out... he might start liking Obama??

Busy Day

I got up at 6:00 and got ready for work. I then got the baby ready for daycare. Took the baby to daycare and then headed to work after picking up a latte. I always get a venti non-fat mint mocha extra hot. Well I got to work and stayed pretty busy all day. I work at a juvenile detention center and we always have something interesting going on. I think we could have a reality show!!! I got done with work and went to daycare to pick up Arthur. Mean while Aaron left for work at 04:30 and he is not home yet because he went to the farm to finish work on an apple bin trailer. At daycare they said Arthur was sick all day with a really bad runny nose and they said he needs to stay home tomorrow. I am going to see if Aaron will stay home with him and then he could get some packing done for our trip this weekend. I am going to get a major haircut tomorrow and a color. I hope it looks half way decent. Arthur and I played a whole bunch when we got home and got a bunch of cleaning done. Overall I think we had a pretty good day. Okay I found my stick thing for uploading pictures. I am going to show you the fabulous picture of Arthur after the circus. He was completely exhausted and has his face painted (kinda melted cause it was so hot outside). His poor little eyes are all bloodshot.

I am back

Arthur had a poopy diaper....no wonder he is still awake!! It didn't stink so I had no clue!! Sleeping is not going to be an option for awhile so I guess we are going to be up playing. Arthur is playing with his monster trucks and track.

It was really hot all weekend (104) and now it is thundering and raining. The rain feels refreshing and is cooling off everything!!! I am going to watch my favorite show Jon and Kate Plus Eight tonight. Actually I watch it because they are such interesting people and not in a good way. If you read on-line about them you see all kinds of stuff about how greedy they are and how they take advantage of people. I think it might be true.... I hope Aaron gets home soon so we can watch it together.

We went to a birthday party this weekend for an old friends little girl. She turned two. It was a really nice party!! I really enjoyed myself. My sister-in-law Karen came, my mom and Karen's kids. After that we went home and got ready to go to the circus. The circus was lots and lots of fun. Aaron and Arthur rode an elephant. We ate roasted peanuts and Arthur got his face painted. We also fed goats and looked at a hippo and a big snake. We did not touch the snake. You could get your picture taken with it for $5.00. I will try to post a picture tonight of Arthur that we took when we got home. He looks totally exhausted in the picture and I think it is really cute. He really enjoyed himself.

Yesterday we went to the farm for my sister Katie's 40th birthday party. We had a very nice dinner with corn on the cob, ribs, bread, potato salad and a bunch of other stuff. Maddy and Karen made a really pretty cake using starburst candies. All the kids were being really sweet and we had a pinata. That was kind of fun!!! It took us a long time to figure out how to put the candy in the pinata and I had to call my friend Vianca for tips.

Where is Aaron?

Okay here is the ongoing debate around our house. Aaron works to much. He left this morning at 04:30 and still isn't home. All my friends think I should be greatful that he works so much, but I miss him and want him home. I also think Arthur misses him and wants him home too.

Arthur is still awake, so I gotta run and try to get him to sleep????

First Post

Okay so this is my first post on my family's blog. I will try to keep it as up to date as possible. I gotta run now because I can hear Arthur throwing things in his crib....he is supposed to be sleeping, but due to his cold he is wide awake!!!
